Tour Overview

This safari lets you witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. Over 2 million Wildebeest, Zebra and Gazelles move through the Serengeti and Masai Mara ecosystems in search of green pastures and safe calving ground. Their pattern of movement is highly weather dependent and dynamic, yet with advance planning and a little bit of luck you can witness this natural wildlife wonder. This safari covers other National Parks too, where you can witness resident game.

The tour is available throughout the year, but opting for it in the right season will leave you awestruck. To provide you with an unforgettable experience, this safari can be done only as a private safari. The choice of accommodation available is mid range to luxury grade tented camps and lodges

Itinerary Description by Day

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by a Serengeti Sons representative and transferred by private vehicle to your lodge located on the outskirts of Arusha. The remainder of your day is at leisure.

Meal plan: Bed & Breakfast
Overnight: Arusha Planet Lodge Or Similar, Subject to availability and your budget

Day 2: Arusha -Tarangire National Park

Following breakfast, proceed to Tarangire National Park with game drive included enroute to Lodge. Check-in at Lodge, lunch will be served. Your afternoon is spent exploring Tarangire’ s valleys and riverbeds looking for herds of impala, eland, kudu, and buffalo that wander the parks vast swamps and river. The park is also a bird lover’s paradise with over 550 bird species and flocks of migratory birds from January to March. Return to your lodge just before sunset to freshen up before dinner.

Day 3: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park – Ngorongoro

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive with packed lunch.

Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its biodiversity. The park includes different environments: the lake, the forest, and the plains. Later proceed to Ngorongoro Conservations area where you’ll enjoy a leisurely dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Crater Tour

After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for Crater Game dive. Your game drive today will be like no other as you visit one of the most dramatic safari destinations in Africa, the Ngorongoro Crater, A picnic lunch will be provided so you can maximize your day in the crater. Later drive to Lodge for evening at leisure, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast depart for Serengeti National Park, game drive en route to your Camp for lunch after you have entered the park. After lunch and short rest depart for an afternoon game drive.

The Serengeti is known for its endless plains of savannah and forest landscapes. At the end of the day, return to your tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Moyo Tented Camp or Similar

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

Today you may choose to either partake in a full-day game drive into the heart of the Serengeti with a picnic lunch or return to your Camp for hot lunch and later engage yourself for the afternoon and evening game drives.

Overnight: Moyo Tented Camp or similar

Day 7: Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti

Today we will make an early morning departure from central Serengeti and drive to Northern Serengeti with game drive en route to your Camp.

Northern serengeti It’s in this area that the Wildebeest migration meets its greatest challenge – crossing the Mara River, peaking between July and October each year.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Overnight: Serengeti River Camp or similar

Day 8: Northern Serengeti

Full day game drive in the Northern side of the Serengeti National park following the great migrations, All meals and overnight at your lodge.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Overnight: Serengeti River Camp or similar

Day 9: Fly Serengeti/Arusha

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the closet airstrip for your light flight to Arusha or Kilimanjaro international airport for your outbound flight

My wife and I have been on 3 safaris and we were very happy with our experience organized by Serengeti Sons Safaris. The tour coordinator, Grace, and our driver, Simon, made every effort to meet our needs. We booked a custom 6 day safari and saw a huge variety of animals and birds. Simon was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and dealt with some very difficult, muddy driving to ensure that we had the best wildlife views possible. Simon also had a strong photographic sense which helped us find the best viewing locations. Accommodation was excellent and provided some interesting variety.  Verified The Serengeti Experience - A worthwhile Experience
I have visited many parks like the Kruger Park in South Africa and the Akagera ParK in Rwanda, but the Serengeti Experience was out of this world. Among other attractions, I was able to see 4 of the 'Big Five' (the lion, the leopard, the buffalo and the elephant) in one game drive within two hours. Another major attractions was seeing the lions mating and stalking (in an ambush for) a prey. I am planning seriously to witness the migration in another visit to the Serengeti.

Probably one of the best trips I have ever taken. George our tour guide was amazing. Highly recommend him. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t think we would’ve had the same experience. Our safari tour with Serengeti Sons was a great experience. Before the actual trip, Grace proved very reactive and she really went to a great deal of trouble for us when we lost 3 our 4 pieces of our luggage on the plane. Jonas, our driver, was quite experienced and knowledgeable, and always keen on learning more about birds. We felt safe with him and he made it a point of honour to keep the car clean. He had a real knack to find animals : we will never forget how he managed to be in the best spot to introduce us to a magnificent leopard. The food was excellent. From the moment we began communicating with Quintin his goal was to determine what kind of experience we were looking for.This is tough when it's your first time.He took the time to get to know us and then customized a Safari and Zanzibar beach vacation.We wanted a little of everything and were willing to scrimp on some things so that we could splurge on others. Quintin's extensive knowledge and expertise delivered a package we loved. Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Lake Victoria, Ngoronogoro and then off to Zanzibar to relax on the beach. Grace in the office couldn't have chosen a better guide for us, George, who met us at the airport with his big beautiful smile and was the perfect match. He was transformed from guide to FRIEND! We had a range of accommodation experiences, again to fit our budget, that delivered the basics and then others that went above and beyond, our favorite, that we truly didn't want to leave, was the Serengeti Acacia Central Camp. The staff were exceptional, the ambiance absolutely delightful and they deserve the tips. Our 5 star experience was Acacia Farm Lodge - fabulous! The thing about Safari is that you can never be guaranteed what you see but our guide, George, had eagle eyes at spotting animals.How he found that leopard in the tree still baffles us. George understands customer service and we are grateful to have been blessed to experience his hospitality. He kept his Land Cruiser exceptionally clean (we joked about how we had our daily massage with all the bumpy roads) he shared his wealth of knowledge about the animals and surrounding areas while quietly and enthusiastically fulfilling our every request. He's a good man! We chose to have a private experience rather than be in a group which worked wonderfully for us. We could stay longer where we wanted and move on at any time without sacrificing getting to know fellow travelers at the end of the day for dinner and socializing. We know of others that have flown around Africa to see a wider variety of parks but honestly the Serengeti region has it all, there is no need to go elsewhere. Our best animal experience - watching(and filming)a lioness hunt and take down a zebra which she then shared with her pack of 16. Oh by the way - if you're wondering whether the financial investment is worth it - it is the trip of a lifetime. Tip where warranted. Serengeti Sons were a terrific experience. My driver Simon was experienced and knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. We logged a few miles together on some rough roads and survived and laughed through most of it! Our accommodations were excellent, once out of Arusha, and our tent camp experience will remain a highlight of my visit to Africa. I saw my first leopard and cheetah in the Serengeti which was an experience to remember! Overall Serengeti Sons took wonderful care of me and I felt like I was in good hands.
