This is one of the best routes to climb the mountain Kilimanjaro and is also favorable for most of you who are first-time climbers and have no clue about hiking adventure, this route offers to major advantage first is a slightly easy slope to take your hike and a number of days between 8-9 which gives you to more advantages easy aclamitasation and more time to enjoy the hiking adventure along the way, this is the only route with a highest summit success rate and less congestion on the trail. Only on day one, the gate is slightly far from your hotel Town be it in Arusha or Kilimanjaro as opposed to other entrance gates.
Day:1 Londolozi gate to Mti Mkubwa camp
Drive from your Hotel to Londorosi gate the journey will depend on whether you started from Arusha or Mishi town It is 51/2 Horus from Arusha or 4 hours from Moshi where we will do registration and start our ascend, as we depart to Lemosho trail where we will begin our climb through the rainforest we will approximately walk 6km for 4 hours to the altitude of 2800 meters above sea level up to Mti Mkubwa camp for overnight and meal.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa to Shira camp
On our second day, we will process with hiking from Mti mkubwa camp heading to Shira 1 Camp, and out of the rainforest to the savannah habitation and prolific spinning hills and crossing several river streams we will make moderate decent past Shira ridge today we will cover the distance of 8km for 6hours walk, up to the altitude of 3000 meters above sea level, up to Shira 1 camp for overnight and meals.
Day 3: From Shira camp to Shira hut
The third day will be slightly easy than day two covering 7km in 3- 4 hours climb, through the Shira plateau this day provides a chance for acclimatization trail leads to Shira 2 camp to the altitude of 3800 meters to take the rest of the day off resting and gaining energy We will have dinner and overnight stay at the Shira Camp 2
Day: 4 From Shira hut Lava camp then Barranco
Today we start by ascending up a ridge towards Lava tower which provides an extra day for acclimatization we will break for a while at Moir hut to rest and have lunch in the afternoon there after descend down and proceed with the trail to reach Barranco Camp for an evening arrival have dinner and overnight stay at the Moir Hut. on this day we will be approximately covering a 14km distance in 7-8 hours across the highest plateau on the planet ascending to the altitude of 4140 meters above sea level.
Day:5 Barranco to Karanga camp.
On this day we will ascend from Mair hut with a slight climbing on a sharp slope up to the summit of Lent hill and thereafter proceed to the common trail toward the Buffalo cam site this one will take us 6-8 hours and 11.5 km walk up to the altitude of 4100 meters above sea level due to its elevation this hill trail gives a very nice view of the plain downside to the north
Day 6:Karanga camp to Barafu camp
We begin the day by descending into a ravine to the base of the Great Barranco Wall. Then we climb the non-technical but steep. From the top of the Barranco Wall, we cross a series of hills and valleys until we descend sharply into Karanga Valley. One more steep climb up leads us to Karanga Camp. This is a shorter day meant for acclimatization.
Day 7 Barafu Camp to Summit then to Mweka camp.
This is our last day and all are set for our walk to Barafu camp at 4640m. The climb will take us to windswept debris dissenting ground with no vegetation at all. It’s an exciting and yet more difficult climb combining steepness and high altitude change. Upon arriving at Barafu camp this afternoon will be used for resting and preparing for a long night and day ahead. It is important to keep hydrated and warm. We will have an early evening meal and then give ourselves some rest as we will be getting up at midnight for the summit final climb, the push to the summit is always hard and challenging considering the time for the final climb “midnight” though making it to the summit is so rewarding at the highest point not in Kilimajaro but the whole of Africa was a phenomenal day with an amazing sunrise at the summit.
From the highest peak of Mountain Kilimanjaro and Africa, we will now start our descent to Mweka hut campsite for rest and breakfast and head to mweka camp for overnight and rest we usually use this time to congratulate each one and reflect on our summit push mind you this is our last day on the mountain where we will approximately walk 157km within 12 hours.
Day 8: Mweka camp to Mweka gate -Hotel.
This is our last day where we will take approximately 4-6 hours walk covering 12m decent, just after breakfast, we will start our descent to mweka gate for the certification ceremony and bid farewell here you will have a chance to celebrate the summit concur achievement and proceed with our walk down to Mweka village normally this lower evelevention with rain forest is wet and muddy there we will meet our driver and start our transfer back to the hotel or airport depending own travel arrangement.
